Aaarrrrrrrrrhhhh!!!! Enough is enough. Somebody please let me OUT of the army NOW!!!
I truly am bursting with hate for the Singapore army right now. It is possibly the only instituition that pays good money for brilliance in, get this, stupidity. The dumber, stupider, dimmer you are, the possiblity of promotion goes up. Oh, this applies to regulars only. The regulars in this army are ASTONISHINGLY STUPID. 99.99% of them must have been missing when God was handing the brains out. I truly have never seen stupidity of this extent anywhere else.
Ok...so its a cummulative frustration. And cummulative factors too. For those not in the army, lets give you an idea of how the NSF(Army) suffers for the sake of the nation. Lets start with brilliant training programs that supposedly build the soldiers up into all they can be...or something like that. I am now witnessing the dumbest training program in my life...happening to me. Or maybe i've seen it before, now i'm just seeing a close rival. Whatever the fact is, my coy has no more ETEP left, and so...pray tell us the reason for Ex Cub 2 and for the fucking stupid 8 and 16km route marches? If ETEP were still needed, then all these are normal preperations, but...but...what now? Getting us combat fit for ORD? Even Charlie who's 6 months behind the ORD pecking order have a slacker life than the only ORD company. Incredible. Oh and it doesn't stop there.
Guard duty...that all too famous one. If it were half as honorable as it's made out to be...why use it as punishment? And whats the use of putting checkpoints in for all the prowlers? Don't they realise that this way...all the prowlers' will be trying to do is to play treasure hunt, and not prowling and looking out for intruders and what not. Bloody daft. And whats the point of turning out ur guards all the time and pissing them off. Don't you realise that everytime you turn them out, you arm them with rifles and live rounds? And that brings me to the next one...just what is the rationale of pissing you off then handing you a rifle and live rounds and teaching you how to shoot? Considering all the stupid things that the army has, i'm mighty impressed with myself for going through all this without so much as firing a round at someone and killing him.
Oh and now...we're gonna have checks for contraband items. What's contraband? The list is huge. Speakers, radios, chargers, water kettles and even instant noodles are illegal. Those regulars are living in a bloody dream world. Get the fucking general to live with us and like us for a week. Bet you he can't stand it. When something goes wrong ban this, ban that. Then when SAF morale goes through the ground, you wonder what the hell went wrong. If the stopped for a moment, went to look for their brains, dust them off and think for awhile, they'll figure it all out.
Or am i giving them too much credit.
Oh and finally, there's my PS, the SAF manifested. Garang when you need to be, wayang most of the time, clueless as to what's happening most of the time and dumb dumb dumb. He's said and done plenty of stupid things along the way, but the most recent one is fantastic. One of my admin specs just signed 3 extra. All that for calling my PS a clown during an arguement. The joke? My PS didn't know the meaning of the word clown until it bugged him so much that he went to ask some of my specs. After realising that he'd been insulted, he decided to show who's boss and threw the 3. Yah right....clown.
