Went to apply for my foundation year today. thankfully, i've been preparin myself for the fact that i may not be able to go through the programme as fast as i might like, and so settled on the exact one that the counsellor deemed most suitable. another plus point is that this 12 month course starts in Jan next yr, and ends in Dec, just in time for Med Sch in Feb of the following yr. 1 month of lull is just enough for me to get packing shld i get a spot on Uni of Melbourne's med programme. else, hopefully i'll be in UNSW's med programme. then there'll b no need for packing, but that's still some way in the future. funny though, but i chose to put UNSW's med programme as 1st choice and Uni Mel as 2nd choice, though i rate them the other way round. reason being?

Uni Mel recently pioneered a procedure that slows muscle scarring in events of MI and enables the body to recover faster after an MI. used more often for the 2nd purpose, it's more of an improvement of the American procedure where by the body was cooled externally. the docs at Uni Mel changed to coolin the body internally, through inserting a cathether through the femoral artery up till the aorta, then pumping cooled saline through that cathether. impressive results followed, though this procedure holds considerably more risk than the American procedure as its invasive.

heck...enuff med speak for u guys ald. anw...just hoping to receive an offer letter now, regardless of it being conditional or not. another major or wld i say semi-major turning point in my life. the 1st major one was taken when i decided to go through NS first to give med a shot. and to think ppl thought i was mad. forfeiting the chance to go through poly to chase a dream. a dream that'll take a good probably 2 decades of my life to realise. that's conviction i guess. determination and ambition, all rolled into this. morbidly, serving in NS is part of living the dream. sick. now the hard work part is comin into play. let's just hope my decision was a right one, that my sacrifice was worth it. else.... i dunno, we'll take it from there.
