three-eight-one-zero Wonder what's all that numbers about? Well, its the azimuth in mils for the general targeting of my ADM. Simply put, it's the general direction my bomb was supposed to go off in. I refined the aiming further and boom!!! I hit the targets at least NINE times!!! Ok...lets explain to you some things so you can share my joy.

I was off on Exercise Firestorm yesterday. I had the privelige of firing the ADM, or Area Defense Munition. For those of you who know the venrable claymore, this baby is just about say, ten to fifteen times larger. For those of you who don't, just take it as a very big bomb. Anyways, Firestorm is supposed to be a block mission. Meaning we use explosives to ambush the enemy and send them to...somewhere else. That last part was my job and so, there were targets set up for me to hit. Platoon 5 attempted the mission before us. They failed. So let in the experts.

The laying and priming of charges took a hugely long time, though we did impress the B2. Anyway with that all said and done, our charges did go off, just not in sequence. The last three charges were the largest explosions. Possibly the largest we've seen in our life. But boy was it fun. I lost the timing and started shouting for it. Unfortunately, everyone lost count too. So Wei Lun simply told me that i was past my timing and i should just fire. So i just shouted a warning and fired. Almighty BANG!!! 1. And best of all, the ground shook. After mine came Kay's land-flame mine. That fire ball was large...probably abt 3 to 4 storeys... then came the final bang of the side-charge. It was big, but after experiencing the ADM, that didn't seem like much. Well, at least it was all over and we had fun with the explosions.

Besides that, it's been a pretty crazy first week of the new year for me. For one thing, we are now without Potato, he's gone for the course with a view to sign on, so best of luck to him.

But for the rest of us...tuesday was funny. We were asked if we would like to volunteer to be sent to Banda Aceh for relief missions. Plenty did, including me. So it was down to 2 things, selection and parental consent. The situation, we were told, was still pretty stable. there was the death and destruction, but there was also a rebellion going on. Thankfully, dad let me go, and i eneded up being one of the 5 in the platton chosen for the Task Force 5. Force 1 and 2 are coming back, replace by 3 and 4, who are already there. The earliest delopyment time for us is in a week, but things are still sketchy. However, word came through later in the week that the whole company would be deployed, with my platoon going in first. We would be doing the MGB and most likely would be sent there after Chinese New Year. Chances of deployment? Pretty high. So...right now, i'm just hoping we can go and help out in some way. Seems to me it's down to when i go and what i'll be doing rather than if i'll go.
