In all fairness, this start to the new year has been decidedly mixed. Tsunami and large-scale disaster notwithstanding, dear little girl Adeline just broke up with her boyfriend. And break ups aren't exactly the nicest thing to have on new year's eve. Spent a little of the afternoon with her then, and she looked happy, but...somehow...i could just feel she wasn't. True enough, she's still crying now, and feeling depressed. As with happiness, sadness is just as contagious...

Plus points this new year...well, at least i had a slightly more exciting celebration this year compared to last. Last year was spent at Yuan Hong's place, and we missed the countdown, not that it mattered though. This year was spent with some platoon mates, having steamboat at Marina South, followed by heading to East Coast Beach to see off the old year. The flares fired by the ships did brighten things up a bit...but, as Daniel put it correctly, 2004 was a bad year.

The year i spent as an 18 year old. Crazy i must admit, pulling off many things i never thought i'd be able to do. Looking back, i survived the OC, CEC, ETEP, NDP, SAF Day, AHM and what have you. I set off a PLC, and blasted a concrete slab to smithereens with block 3s... And that's just with the army. As a person though, i sincerely hope i've grown to be better, to be more accepting, to be more tactful, to have a longer fuse. Man, it's such a long list.

Right now for this new year, i just want 3 things. ORD, get a place in UNSW Foundation Year for Life Sciences and to get a driver's licencse. Simple? Let's hope so.

Life is waiting for you, it's all messed up but we're alive.
