Spent the afternoon with Ruth today. Had an ok lunch like maybe half an hour after we were supposed to, all cause the little girl kept getting side tracked by all the shops along the way. Didn't help that the place was literally overflowing with shops. She ended up with a belt and i ended up confirming that the current Beetlebug collection wasn't much to shout about. That said, the only highlight of lunch was our conversation, and the girls seated behind Ruth, quite pretty semi-model types, not that i fancy any of them. I mean, really MOS burger is only that good, and no Ruth, they are NOT healthy no matter what you say. Fast food is low on health and high on wealth, their's not our's. Ok, besides that, somehow, discussing school in my presence somehow made her think of Kelly, probably synoymous with me now, considering the amount of pestering i've done to try to get to know her. Ruth wasn't very pleased with what Kelly had done in school, to say the least and i don't want to sound like i'm siding her, but i think she should be given a break. Things like that are usually one-off, and people, especially girls, are prone to erratic behaviour once in awhile. I've never met her, so i can't say for sure, but here my two cent's worth anyway.

Went for more shopping, window for me, actual for her. Zara had some very nice clothes but it was the fall season. Wear that in Singapore and you'll look in season, great and be dying of heat stroke. Yes, the fall season is for the actual fall, not the Singapore monsoon, in-our-minds feel-a-like. So there, Zara down and many more shops to go. The little lady wasn't exactly on a buying rampage, which i can live with as long as i'm not paying for anything, but she was determined to see as many clothes as possible, perfectly fine by me.

We somehow ended up in Isetan after wandering around Wisma, and that's where we spent quite a bit of the afternon. You see, the girl had her eyes on a dress. Fortunately she knew which label she liked. Unfortunately, the label carried a tad too many designs for her to effectively pick a winner straight away. After some consulation with yours truly, she settled for a orange flowery dress and went to the changing rooms for some fittings. Turns out it didn't fit very well, so the choices were to alter this, or to pick another. The slaesgirl suggested a sweet little number with butterfly prints, and lovely, her size. Frankly, the butterfly number did catch my eye before they saw it, i think. But i never did mention it for fear that she felt it would look a little...out of season? Nomatter, she turned out liking that instead, and so it was more time spent waiting around for me as she went back to the changing rooms. After i-don't-know-how-long, she fianlly had it all pinned and ready to be altered. Now, with her extremely happy that she's got a sweet looking dress to wear next saturday, and me happy with the fact that there was no more waiting, we moved on to Borders, in search of the lomography oktomat. Essentially a fancy eight-lensed camera with an equaly fancy name.

Once we reached Borders, i dropped the bomb that went"oops, i think its at Kino instead." However, since at Borders, we decided to window-shop a little there first, this being only her second time there. She was wowed by the fabulous prints on the notebooks, and having nothing much else left for her, we were headed back to Taka for Kino.

Turns out Kino didnt have the cam either, but with the girl not fancying bookstores, the visit to Kino proved to be an eye opener for her. Yes, Kino here is large, and no, they don't sell only books. She was amazed by the amount of other nonsense they stocked. See...this is what happens to people who don't read...you just don't know what your missing out on. Well then, after that we hoped by a contemporary furniture store and the little girl's eyes went big again. Welcome to the world i love, the simplistic elegance of it.

Well then, we headed much our seperate ways after that, and this little afternon spent together has opened my eyes as much as her's. Only now do i know that girl's look out for microscopic detail on their purchases. Also, only with her did i discover how out of touch i was with civilisation these days. So sad...gotta get a girlfriend A.S.A.P to keep my in sync at the very least.
