Chi Mo Shi...thats the translation of my name in japanese. And lo and behold, guess what it means. Turns out the characters mean cure hope scholar. Sounds alot like doctor or surgeon to me. Haha...my path decided by my name if u buy into that school of thought. A positive affirmation for me though, i'll take it that way.

Well then, thats a positive note to a week thats quite positive till now. Got activated once on wednesday on a semi-surprise. We almost scraped through, with our mine prodders truning rusty at the last minute. Fortunately, we were on rather good terms with the staff checking us, so we faked our way through. Till our dear DFO caught my SectCom for an unsharpened ET blade. Of all things. I mean...sure, it's brand new and green and all...but its not rusty. After that he decided to check our changkols, unsharpened too, so instead of throwing extras left right center, he told us he'd give us a chance and activated us the next day. Right, so i spent the rest of the day sharpening changkols and ET blades.

Thursday came and went without activation, though there was a very long false alarm waiting period. Yes, pratically the whole platoon fell asleep waiting for activation, me included, but i leapt at the sound of "Going to Por liao". Guess your brain never truly sleeps. Ruined my beautiful dreams though. Darn. Anyway, the siren never came and so all of us went for the scheduled qualifying match between Bravo and Plant. No points guessing who won here. Our 'keeper only got 2 touches of the ball, both slow rolling loose balls. We won it 4-0 in the end, though the Plant fellas were pretty spoilt sports about us taking early leads and exploiting their...lacklustre defence.

Friday next up as high priority activation day. Yeah right. I went to play soccer at 2 and bumped into the DFO. Oops. He told me to wait for him while he went to round up some officers to play soccer with us. Haha...activate us and he can't play. That's it, bought safety for the platoon and immunity from extras. Took charge of the backline after Daniel and Ah Beng gave up playing, and their replacements of PCs 4 and 5 proved...a little challenging for me. Both didn't play soccer, so it was up to me and thankfully Harminder to stabalise the back. Did a pretty good job i must say. So good that our DFO didnt want us to go...even though it was time to book out. Hope the dedication made him happy...monday is the last day for activation...and i hope he doesn't hit the button.

Finally, i was so relieved for once that Arsenal thrashed their oponents. 3-1 the final score, but Lee Hendrie gave me an early scare. For once, i decided to bet with my head and not my heart. Earned me 8.70 in the process. 87% return on investment. Great investment i must say. From now on, i'll dare say i'm betting on Arsenal most of the way...to get cash, purely that, and nothing else. Its a new investment strategy i'm trying. Hope it works then.
