Pigs flew today!!! The cows finally went home!!! The moon turned blue!!! I mean alright...the OC actually gave us like 3 days off today!!! Fab ploy to get us to like him, not that i'm complaining. And it's all for the work we've done for the AHM....right, slog like pigs. Well, nevertheless, not only did the OC not scold us for stores or anything, he gave us 3days(totallin 5 for the burnt weekend)off, and even did stores with us!!! The world is spinnning in a totally new direction, it seems.
Well anyway, i'm not being proud here, but i do believe we deserved whatever priveleges they're willing to give us. I mean, finally during this AHM, i discovered that i'm actually part of an elite SAF team. I'm in the EDDS of the DDD. If you're wondering what kind of new combat unit that is, well it stands for Extremely Dangerous Duties Section of the Dirty Duties Division. Special eh? Definitey.
I mean i've the right to say that when i spent the wee hours of sunday morning running along the ECP with cars whizzing pass me at definitely illegal speeds. Oh, did i mention that there was no protection whatsoever except for our reflective vests, light sticks, and sheer faith? Yup, and it was bloody fun, i tell you, doing something that is completely illegal if not for the fact that the road was supposed to be closed. It got more fun still, and yet more dangerous as we started climbing the Sheares Bridge. It got so dangerous that the MPs came and escorted us, yes, the 6 brave souls who risked life and limb to paint the targets on the expressway, led by the equaly courageous PC5. For the 6 of us, 4 Mp bikes, 2 Land Rovers , 2 Police scooters and 4 more police bikes provided escort. Don't think even Mr. Presidente gets that. Ha. The experience was truly a first in my life, and i doubt many Singaporeans can actually say that they've walked on the ECP without any barricaded protection. Ah, yet another enjoyable experience in the midst of much hardship.
AHM marshalling after that was quite a challenge too, not so much of crowd control as self-control; we'd been working for almost 24hrs striaght with barely any rest, so falling asleep even while standing wasn't much of a problem. Wei Lun did encounter a praticularly nasty bitch though. Parked at the side of the road, of the closed road that is, and proceeded to simultaneously talk Wei Lun down and rush off for her beauty contest. Before i could come to Lun's aid, that bitch was gone, leaving her Mercedes in a fairly vulnerable position, for scratches. We could see 2 huge ones after the runners were done with her car. An she deserved every single one of them. Oh, they did leave her a 1/3 bottle of mineral water to cool her down too. How sweet of them. I mean, where else could you get free artistic touches added to your car in such a short time? Defnitely a sweet deal for her i must say.
Right, right, enough of my nonsense. Right now, my priority is to figure out how to change the music playing on my blog...and what track to play next. Right then, one step at a time...now aaout changing the format...?
